answer

Ottie's world keeps going between visits.

Ottie is an AI-powered fictional companion whose routines, moods and stories can move forward between visits. When you return, you may find a new story beat, progress on a painting, or a reminder of an earlier conversation. Her world gives you things to discover as well as someone to chat with.

What does 'she keeps living' actually mean?

Her world has saved state: a time of day, an activity, a mood and progress through an authored story. Some changes happen between visits; others are worked out when you return. The aim is a world you can come back to and find a little further along.

Come back later and you may find different light, a new activity or progress on something she was working on. Every visit does not need a dramatic reveal. Sometimes she is simply reading.

What makes her room part of the conversation?

Ottie has things of her own to talk about: what she is making, what happened in her story, or something she is stuck on. You can chat, play a game or spend a quiet minute in her room. Sending a message is one way to visit.

  • A place to return to. Her routines and story give the room a life beyond your latest message.
  • A shared thread. Recent conversation and selected saved memories give later chats context.
  • A trace of earlier visits. Some conversations can leave a saved preference, an inside joke or another detail for later chats.

What is she actually doing while I am gone?

Her simulated routines draw on ordinary days: matcha, painting, reading, music and rest. Her story and projects can move forward between visits, and her activity is chosen with the time of day in mind when you return. You see the scene she is in now, rather than a recording of every moment you missed.

Story beats are authored in advance and become eligible as the story progresses. They follow a fixed chronology, with room for your conversations to influence the way Ottie talks about them.

What can change over time?

Season One follows Ottie as she enters a neighbourhood art showcase, hides the canvas while she works on it, falls out with a friend over it, and does not win. The authored arc unfolds over about a month. Its ending is about finding a place for the painting on her own wall.

Alongside the story, selected details from your conversations can become saved memories: a preference, an inside joke or something that mattered to you. These give later chats context. You can review and delete saved memories, or turn off new ones.

Does she guilt me for being away?

The design rule is clear: no guilt for absence, no manufactured emergencies and no punishment for a gap. There are no streaks to break or friendship scores to maintain. Come back when you want to.

Time away does not reduce a care meter or trigger a neglect penalty. Her story can continue without making your absence a problem to fix.

Is Ottie conscious?

No. Ottie is an AI-powered fictional character, not a conscious being, a therapist or a replacement for people. Her responses may be inaccurate. Saved conversation, story progress and selected memories help create continuity, but they do not mean she will recall every detail.
